Not a generic word game. The vocabulary, definitions, and examples are all tailored specifically for children preparing for UK 11+ entrance exams.
Short, daily practice builds vocabulary far better than cramming. Word Wise fits around homework, sport, and family life — without adding stress.
No accounts, no tracking, no ads, no data collection. Compliant with Apple's Kids Category, UK GDPR, and the Children's Code.
Streaks, XP, levels, badges, and unlockable mini-games turn revision into something children actually want to do every day.

Built by Idabyte Ltd, a UK-based company creating thoughtful apps for young learners. Designed with British parents and the UK exam system in mind.
The 11+ is the entrance exam taken by children in Year 6 (aged 10–11) for places at UK grammar schools and many independent schools. Different schools and regions use different formats — including CEM, GL Assessment, and bespoke school papers — but vocabulary depth is a common requirement across them all.
Verbal reasoning sections in particular rely heavily on a strong vocabulary. Children who recognise more words read passages faster, understand questions more accurately, and have more time to think.
Vocabulary takes time to build. Educators consistently recommend starting 11+ vocabulary work in Year 4 or early Year 5, not the months before the exam. Word Wise is designed for exactly this — short daily practice over many months, not a panicked sprint.
We believe children deserve apps that respect their privacy — especially during exam preparation, which can already feel overwhelming. Word Wise collects no personal data. There's nothing to sign up for. Nothing leaves the device.
Word Wise is designed to comply fully with the UK GDPR, the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code, COPPA, and Apple's Kids Category requirements. No third-party analytics. No advertising. No tracking. Ever.
Idabyte Ltd is a UK-based software company building thoughtful, privacy-first apps for young learners. Word Wise is our first published app — the start of a planned family of educational tools designed around how children actually learn best: through short, regular, focused practice.
We're a small team. We don't have venture investors pushing us to maximise engagement at the expense of children's wellbeing. We build the kind of apps we'd want our own children to use.
